I've worked professionally in photography for more than 20 years and have spent the past two years specializing heavily in iris photography. I'm now closing in on an exciting milestone of 1,000 irises photographed.
That experience has taught me a lot.
Every eye is different. Some people are light sensitive, some have extremely dark irises, some have difficulty keeping their eyes open, and kids can sometimes need a little extra patience. I've worked with nearly every eye color imaginable and have continually refined my photography and editing process along the way.
The goal is always the same: capture as much beautiful detail and character from your iris as possible.

Iris photography is amazing on its own, but some of my favorite artwork comes from bringing people together.

I've photographed individuals, couples, children, families, twins, and multiple generations together. There is something pretty incredible about seeing the unique characteristics of the people you love displayed side by side.

My Layton studio isn't a temporary setup that comes out when someone books an appointment. It is a dedicated iris photography studio designed around the entire experience.
Specialized equipment helps keep your head steady so I can capture the tiny details within your iris. I use multiple lighting options depending on the eye, and there's even an iris viewing station with bright LED lighting and a magnifying mirror where you can inspect both eyes up close and decide which one you'd like photographed.
The photography itself is surprisingly quick, with most sessions taking only around 5 to 10 minutes per iris.
And because I want visiting the studio to be fun and comfortable, I've added some little extras too.
